I want to shoot the sci-fi movie in cinemascope. Using an anamorphic lens. I've been messing around with an old anamorphic lens. We probably couldn't shoot a feature with this one. Maybe? Probably a rental. Almost every great sci-fi flick was shot with anamorphic lenses. Most of my favorite movies are shot using anamorphic lenses.
As I research these lenses I've been watching lots of movies from the 70's and noticing all the distinctive anamorphic lens flares. I really love the look of them.
I shot these the other day with an anamorphic lens on a Canon 7D
As I type this I'm watching Nicolas Roag's "The Man Who Fell To Earth" having just watched his "Walkabout" the other night.

Look Bookin
Just collecting some inspiration images for spaceship interior design.
I want this guys room for my own. I want to watch movies there.
I like the idea of a window room of some kind. Probably not a good idea for a small budget though.
I like this look quite a bit.
I like this too. I like the crammed up feel of it. I like that instrument panel on the left.
I started looking at designs of mini-subs as inspiration for the shape of the exterior of the ship. I like the shape of this sub.
Maybe if we can't do a window room. I like the idea of a window likes this. A place to look out from while monitoring the mechanics outside the ship fixing the satellites which doubles as a place to sit alone and stare into the void while you ponder existence and the fact that you are going to die in space alone.
This guy is stoked.
I like this and don't like it. It looks too Disneyland. Probably just because the button colors or so Easter egg colored.
